Christmas beers

Commonly said amongst beer writers at this time of the year is the wash of wine-and-Christmas articles that flood the pages of our newspapers. Of course they are there but it’s not as bad as it might be. I noted that the Guardian had something and I bet Will Hawkes at the Independent will put a few thoughts out there later this week (though in the mean time you should read his piece on Scottish beer). Meanwhile Gavin Aitchison at the York Press has added his voice here. As for myself, I’ve got 10 suggestions over at the Telegraph, which can be read here.

  1. You and Will are doing sterling work. Would be nice to see more beer writers in newspapers in 2012. (Just enough to create a buzz, mind you, but not so much as to do you out of any work...)

  2. Nice choices! I still haven't decided what to have with the turkey this year...

  3. Bailey, I think you will see more on telly, even though Dwink covers more than beer, I reckon Ben Mc would play a blinder in front of the cameras and then there’s Melissa, I reckon she can own the camera, not forgetting Mr Brown. But who knows what will happen — we just have to keep plugging away without seeming like weirdoes.
Mark — La Chouffe would be another good one with the turkey, I used to think Jenlain as well, or maybe Jack D’or, a bottle of which I have coming today courtesy of that kind stylishly hirsute man in Leeds whom connoisseurs of the fermented juice of barley call Zak.

  4. Wow I was impressed and influenced by that slogan below the title of your blog. Beer writing must be really enjoyable. :)
