Sabotage a bit of free time with the Plzen festival
Sabotage Times is an online magazine that was started and is edited by James Brown (that’s the chap behind Loaded by the way, not the dead soul singer whose stuff I used to adore) — there’s an eclectic bag of articles inside from some funny writers. I add stuff on beer and pubs — here’s my latest, a report on the Plzen festival, which can be read here.

Sorry to be a pedant, but Josef Groll wasn't from Munich, rather from Vilshofen an der Donau near Passau, about 200km from Munich, pretty much on the modern Czech/German border. Also he wasn't fired, rather the brewery decided not renew his original three year contract, after which he inherited his father's brewery in Vilshofen, apparently he died at his regular pub.
ReplyDeletethanks for that, will notify ST, but I did read that he wasn’t a very personable chap, and I just coloured the way he faded into history.
ReplyDeleteHis being a grumpy sod was one of the reasons his contract wasn't renewed. He was infamous for treating staff badly and generally getting on everyone's tits.
ReplyDeleteVelky — I’ve worked with people like that, which is one of the main reasons I’ve been freelance for so long…
